If you're a positives guy you'll go nuts for it, but if you're more about speed/airtime/agility, it's nothing special. The highest roller coaster in the world is Kingda Ka with 458 ft. Ride fans refer to the negative G-force, out-of-your-seat sensation that coasters deliver as airtime. I don't grey/black out much but the first turn got my vision a little spotty, and when I first rode it as a new enthusiast (opening season as Intrimidator) I was seeing in muted color for a bit after I got off. Not the most powerful I've experienced (that's gotta go to SFMM's Goliath) but still powerful. Not so much the magnitude, but the focus it puts on the force over all else is probably why it has this rap.Īs for the magnitude of the positives, they're powerful. It's definitely a positive-focused ride, probably moreso than many other coasters out there. They legit feel like the missed air hills on the second half of New Texas Giant, or any overrated "classic" wooden coaster that barely gets you out of your seat, such as Screamin' Eagle or Kennywood's Racer. Now they made an attempt to do that with a few air hills around the layout but they flat out fail to get you out of your seat. level high-speed twists and turns, with a maximum G-force of 4.3. Now, it does have the best drop of any giga in the US and there are a few moments where I feel it utilizes its speed well (that "right turn, unbank, rebank, right turn" moment is incredible) but it's going to take more than the same mildly amusing transition over and over again to really win me over on a ride like that. Intimidator 305 is a Giga Coaster, a title reserved for coasters with a height or drop. But personally, when such a large amount of the ride is dedicated to chilling out in the same turn forever as it exerts the same magnitude of force on you and very little is done to break it up, that's not going to impress me. Skyrush, Banshee, and others are all great examples of this. It's not that I hate positives, there are several coasters out there that can really pound you with force that I enjoy, but for other aspects of the ride. I mean, the thing needs water sprayers in the station to keep the wheels from melting for crying out loud! However, it's not my cup of tea because it spends so much time doing stuff I don't really find interesting and not enough time doing stuff that I actually enjoy. The positives on it are nuts and the fact that it can manage to pound you with such high magnitude force for such a sustained period of time is impressive. For such a large innovative ride it seems to fail to do certain things that should be pretty textbook for a ride of its tech level. ![]() I consider it the most overrated steel coaster out there. ![]() ![]() ![]() The tour itself was fantastic and the tour guide was brilliant. Credit to the hotel staff at Hostal Alfredo's Palace for their effort to contact the operator on my behalf I don't know how you avoid not being picked up but I had difficulty contacting the operator using the contacts provided and it was only when I accessed their website that I found a number that they would answer. Anyway, just a quick introduction, as its late. Might take a while to get the learning curve up, but I tell ya, vector based is the way to go. Does everything I need, but I just got Quickcad, and it seems it will do most everything you would need. Since I am a CAD detailer, I saw this thread and thought I'd throw my. It does have a learning curve, but for someone who is familiar with CAD basics it might be worth a look. The best part is that if you are a hobbiest who is going to use the program for non-commercial purposes, you can get a package that normally sells for as much as a midsize car for $150. It makes it much faster to create and evaluate the impact of different design alternatives. Want to change a tenon from 1/2" thick to 5/8"? In Pro/E (and a few others), when you change the case height all of the other detail parts are automatically regenerated based on the parameters you defined when you created them. With non-associative programs, if you draw a chest of drawers and then decide that the whole thing should be six inches taller, you have to go back and redraw all of the drawers to fit the new case dimensions. The thing I love about it is that is completely associative. It's a full-service CAD package that is used a lot in industry. For example, I'm a huge fan of Pro/Engineer. ![]() #Deltacad help software#Just holler if you would like more tips.If cost is an issue (and isn't it always?), most CAD programs have discounts available for people who will use the software for non-commercial purposes. After drawing, you could use the rectangle as the dwg border or put it in a non printable layer so it doesn't print, if deltacad offers that. Look at shapes for a rectangle or use lines to make the rectangle. #Deltacad help how to#Zoom all or zoom extents to get the display to show the full rectangle and you can see how to position the parts in the dwg to keep them inside the printing area scaled. So, using 0,0 as a starting point, you might make a rectangle whose diagonal points are 0,0 and 28,40. The easiest way to keep things inside the dwg area is to draw a rectangle representing the paper dwg area scaled. To maximize the use of the drawing area, you might pick a dwg scale of 1"=4" which would give you a scaled area of 28"x40" within the 7x10 dwg area on paper. If you want to draw something 36" wide and 24" high, then the dwg must be scaled to fit the 36" inside the paper area and keep the drawn items in correct scale to each other. You could round that to 7x10 to keep things simple. If you are using 8x11, then you have about 7.5x10.5 of useable area on the paper. You should have some idea of how large the thing is you want to draw and you know what paper sizes you can print on with your printer. Now you can move the view around with the dwg window sliders to get 0,0 in the lower left. Now, you can find 0,0 on the screen by putting in a point or starting a line from 0,0 by typing 0,0 as the point or start point. You should also think in terms of an xy coordinate system with 0,0 as the origin. As DOW noted, 0,0 in the lower left corner works good for most of us. ![]() Usually, it's easier for us to think in terms of an absolute starting point so we can envision the dwg and start constructing the plan. Your reference point is really just a concept because you can start dwg anywhere you want. I'm not a deltacad user, but I do use cad. If you want the line to go to the left, then enter a negative value. An easier way (at least for me) is to click where you want the line to start, and then 12 (there will be a place to enter it in the bottom left corner. you CAN select the horizontal line tool and then click where you want to start and drag to the right or left until the coordinate reading tells you that you've gone far enough. You can also specify the initial scale and position in the Options menu.Īnother tip: Let's say that you want to draw a horizontal line 12" long. 1" = 12', go to OPTIONS, then DRAWING SCALE. ![]() As you work on parts of a drawing, you can adjust how much you see of it with the SCALE button and arrows, also in the bottom right corner. I ALWAYS start my drawings with the extreme bottom left corner at coord. As you move your pointer, these coordinates will change. In the bottom right corner of the deltacad screen, there is a pair of coordinates. ![]() ![]() ![]() These questions surge according to your planned trip to Peru.
